On November 18th and 19th, OCGA and the Commercial Gaming Association Ontario (CGAO), hosted our annual charitable gaming conference. The 2019 “Stronger Together” charitable gaming conference focused on the Ontario marketplace and provided a great opportunity to celebrate the industry’s many achievements. This included discussions about the success of cGaming and sessions on e-Raffles and Break Open Tickets that provided information on new opportunities and new products available to charities and non-profits.
We are pleased that Lori Sullivan, Chief Operating Officer, Ontario Lottery and Gaming, and Jean Major, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, took time out of their busy schedules to speak and support the industry.
We also took the time to acknowledge the significant contribution of our cGaming partners – OLG, AGCO, CGAO, commercial operators, charities and their volunteers and municipalities. During our opening reception, Bill Wilson, President, OCGA, presented Rick Gray, Vice President, Charitable Gaming, Ontario Lottery and Gaming, with a cheque representing the $250 Million raised by cGaming charities so far.
Richard Schwar, OCGA, Field Coordinator, shared a very powerful presentation on the Impact of Charitable Gaming. He shared touching stories of the many lives and communities impacted by cGaming and reminded all in the room that everyone in cGaming – charities, operators, OLG and AGCO staff, and suppliers - contribute to our success and to making the lives of so many individuals across the province better.
