Licensed Bingo
Licensed paper bingo in Ontario is played primarily in commercial bingo centres or less frequently in churches or legions. Numbered balls are drawn by a registered caller with various patterns required on the card to win a prize. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission registers operators and carefully regulates the game requirements.
Games include fixed prizing, share the wealth, and progressive style games. An organization must go through an eligibility assessment with their municipality in order to be issued a license. Monies raised are held in a trust account with the use of proceeds monitored by the municipality.
There are terms and conditions for the operation of events regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. It has been a mainstay in charitable gaming for decades, generating millions of dollars every year for local organizations.
