How Does it Work?

Big Link Bingo games are provided under contract by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's participation reflects the fact that under the Criminal Code provisions dealing with gaming, only government can "manage and conduct" gaming on or through a computer device.

Each participating bingo hall is connected to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's main computer. As cards are sold in each hall, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation computer tabulates total spending and tracks the size of the prizes for each element of each game.

The games are called through the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's central computer and connected by phoneline to participating halls, where players track its progress on television monitors located throughout each participating hall. In addition to this feature, the games are also broadcast via satellite to the participating halls where a live presenter calls the numbers on a live feed. When a player in a local hall calls "bingo!", the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's central computer is notified immediately and play across the province stops while the winning card is verified. If a winner is declared, play continues locally in each participating hall for consolation prizes.
