Members' Services
The OCGA's portfolio of Members' Services is designed to provide maximum support to members in their efforts to raise local funds through charitable gaming. As a member of the OCGA, your organization has access to a range of benefits:
- Information:
This is one of our most important services. Through newsletter publications, special bulletins, and other updates, members receive the most recent information about charitable gaming and related issues.
- Problem Solving:
On a daily basis OCGA assists individual charities/non-profit organizations with issues that they are facing locally. These issues may include provincial and/or municipal licensing, inspections, interpreting the Terms and Conditions, best practices from other organizations, and problem resolution between parties. Our toll-free number and internet availability makes contacting us easy.
- Access to the On-Line Library:
The OCGA charity members have access to our On-Line Library, which includes easy-to-download copies of useful documents. These include: OCGA newsletters and other publications; direct links to all regulatory changes and communications; materials from the conferences and information sessions; and documents of interest from other sources (municipalities, other governments, research, and private sector).
- Representation on Issues:
The OCGA provides strong, effective, independent representation for members on issues of concern. This means working to ensure that government officials, the private sector, and other stakeholders are aware of members' concerns and, wherever possible, working with government officials to develop innovative solutions to problems.
- Track Record of Success:
We have a track record of success on working with government and the private sector effectively. OCGA is well respected in the industry as the credible representative of charities and non-profits.
- Advocacy:
The OCGA works to ensure that policy makers - both politicians and bureaucrats - are aware of the importance of charitable gaming to our communities and understand the issues that are of concern to our members.
