The mandate of the OCGA is to provide strong independent and effective
advocacy on behalf of charities and non-profit organizations with respect
to charitable gaming. This mandate encompasses the full range of issues that
affect the interests of charities and non-profit organizations, including:
advocating for positive growth in the charitable gaming sector, and the introduction of new products and services that will enhance the competitiveness of charitable gaming and the capacity of charities and non-profit organizations to raise funds locally;
providing strong and effective input on behalf of charities and non-profits into the development of public policy;
informing and educating charities about roles and responsibilities, Terms and Conditions, contentious issues, and new gaming related initiatives;
building effective partnerships with governments, the private sector, and other stakeholders to advocate for the competitiveness and future viability of charitable gaming;
ensuring that member charities have access to timely, accurate, and useful information about all issues that affect them; and
representing strongly the interests charities and non- profits with the provincial government, municipalities and the private sector.

The OCGA also has specific contractual obligations on behalf of bingo
charities with respect to the on-going operation of Big Link Bingo. These
include:
overseeing the distribution of Big Link Bingo charity funds through contracts with participating charities across the province
leading the direction for charities in a new pilot model to revitalize charitable bingo with the introduction of Electronic Bingo, the revamping of facilities and the introduction of new roles and responsibilities for charities and operators.
OCGA has developed and is managing the contracts for this pilot. As well OCGA is providing training, policy direction and support for charities in their new role
OCGA will oversee the distribution of the funds and assist the OLGC in evaluating the initiative in order to make future recommendations to government
